The Indian Immunology Society was established in 1972-73 with the aim of developing and expanding the subject of immunology through training and research. The purpose is to use immunology to fight the major health challenges in India and promote opportunities for professional growth for researchers at all stages of their careers. Its members collaborate to advance knowledge and address shared interests, facilitate exchange of ideas & information amongst scientist working in different research areas of Immunology. These objectives are achieved through scientific meetings and interactions of the society.
The IIS Membership has been growing steadily with about 1700+ members. IIS elections are held every 3rd year. The board of executives are from different states of India.

IMMUNOCON 2026 is the 53rd Annual Conference of the Indian Immunology Society, a prestigious scientific event bringing together researchers, clinicians, academicians, and students working in the field of immunology and biomedical sciences. The conference is scheduled to be held from June 10–13, 2026 at SKIMS (Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences), Soura, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India.
The event is organized by the Advanced Center for Human Genetics, SKIMS-Soura, with the aim of promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration among experts working on immune system research, disease mechanisms, and translational medicine.
